Like everybody else I'm in tears. I first read the book when I was about 13 - saw the film later. Ime 77 now. Dtill love it.

Νιώθω πολύ τυχερός που Διδάχθηκα αυτήν την σπουδαία ταινία το 1992 απο τον εξαίρετο καθηγητή μας Alan Bernstein , αλλά και για το οτι μας την πρόβαλε σε φίλμ 35 mm και μάλιστα στην μεγάλη οθόνη του σινεμά της σχολής ( The London International Film School ) . Οι σπουδαιές ταινίες της Χρυσής εποχής του Hollywood αποτελούσαν την Επιτομή του Οπτικοακουστικού Επιτεύγματος με την κάθε λεπτομέρεια κατασκευής του να οδηγεί στην Μαγεία της 7ης Τέχνης και ταυτόχρονα να υπακούει στην νομοτελειακή Σύμβαση : "ΜΕΓΑΛΗ ΟΘΟΝΗ ΤΟΥ ΣΙΝΕΜΑ" !!! Επίτευγμα μοναδικό που νομίζω έχει εκλείψει σήμερα ακόμα και στο σύγχρονο Hollywood! Το απόσπασμα αυτό απο την ταινία ,ανέβηκε απο εμένα προσωπικά στο UA-cam το 2009. Translation from Greek : I feel very fortunate that I was taught this great film in 1992 by our excellent professor Alan Bernstein, but also that it was shown on 35 mm film and even on the big screen of the cinema of the school ( The London International Film School ) . The great films of the Golden Age of Hollywood were the Epitome of the Audiovisual Achievement with every detail of its construction leading to the Magic of the 7th Art and at the same time obeying the Law Convention: "BIG SCREEN OF CINEMA"!!!! Achievement unique that I think is extinct today even in modern Hollywood! That segment from the film was uploaded by me personally to UA-cam in the year 2009.

A truly touchind scene. What movie was that from. 🤔

The Welsh just love to sing, and they do it so beutifully, I love this film, and I know it is a bit mushy but those where the days when people respected each other and when there was a great community spirit people looked after there neighbours and each other.

No such Welsh village existed. It was built in California as a set for the movie.

With tears wetting my face, I think of my mother and sister, we played Myfanwy at their funerals, it is so beautiful to listen to and takes me back to my Welsh roots

Well, things have changed now due to immigration. Entire cultures around europe are almost lost. I am 80 years old born in England, and I just toured England, Wales ( grandmother Welsh)..it took three days before I spoke to a native english speaker. Hotels bought by the government forced me to stay away from certain areas, whose residents survive on tourist dollars. The migrants I doubt, are buying clotted cream and strawberries on scones, unless they are curry flavoured. I am not against migration, but not when they import their own racist views and pack their problems in suitcases when they migrate. I am a liberal , but this unlimited migration, again, is destroying my own heritage. Ibam in the US, so the new English laws against speaking axtruth, does not affect me. ( until the next time I go through customs )😂

When you're Welsh, the motherland calls you through your blood. How beautiful to hear the soul of Wales in song. My thrice great grandma was Welsh.

If this doesn't bring a tear to your eye then nothing else will!! What beautiful harmonising!

Athough I am only half Welsh, I feel more Welsh than English, I love the music the Black Mountains and the Valley's and of course the Rugby.

Welsh is not by blood but by soul. Sing like ur nans and bamps are watching u from above and our songs will always keep you going no matter how hard life is hurting you.

Filmed on an 80 acre plot in the Santa Monica hills. A classic film.
